EU Energy Sustainable Week in Brussels
At the EUSEW, RentalCal presented the project together with two other projects on financing of energy renovation. Below the short introduction to the three projects and the event at EUSEW.
REVALUE is developing international guidance for property appraisers, incorporating the collection and easy analysis of relevant evidence. The aim is to help valuers to reflect the value of energy efficiency (EE), in their valuations of social and private housing stock.
Current valuation normally includes the costs for retrofitting and energy cost savings, but EE also involves maintenance cost reduction, reduced voids and arrears and - a price premium. These elements have been analyzed in expert panels and case studies, and results are being gathered in a database that links the technical descriptions and valuation of dwellings. On the basis of the analysis, REVALUE has developed enhanced guidance that unlocks the benefits in EE and possibilities in financing of real estate.
RenoValue has developed a training tool kit for property valuation for professionals on how to factor sustainability into the valuation process. The training tool kit is based on analysis and assessment of needs of the professional valuators concerning the integration of sustainability into property valuation practices and design.
The tool kit consists of three elements - available in eight languages:
104 slides designed as support for professional trainers, valuers’ associations and other stakehol-ders that organize face-to-face training sessions and CPD events.
An e-learning course for valuation professionals
Supplementary material consisting of an overview of EPCs in the core project target countries and a list of suggested further reading
RentalCal focuses on the current level of energy efficiency investments in the rented housing sector. During the first two years of the project, a considerable research has taken place, uncovering the framing conditions for energy efficient renovation. The results of the research are transformed into a tool to support investors in the decision process.
The RentalCal tool has been tested in national case studies in eight countries and is ready to be demonstrated at EUSEW.
At EUSEW the three projects will present three models for reducing the EE gap in a friendly competition:
The three models was discussed with the audience, consisting of representatives from various target groups - investors, advisors, consultants and experts. The result of the survey can be found here
